Short Pump, Virginia
Copperas Creek

The oak at our backdoor can't decide whether it is fall yet. Its leaves glisten with rain at the beginning of a damp Sunday whose temperatures will drop through the day.

Cambridge church

At the beginning of worship services Win Davis — pastor to youth and young adults at the church — describes the concept of the tithe to some of the children by using 10 candy bars.

Left to right, Gabe, Matthew and Christopher troop into a class for children held during the worship service for adults and older children. We are well into flu season and attendance is low.

Michelle is a wonderful teacher. She interacts with Matthew and Christopher during the class.

Sadie settles into an afternoon nap beneath a throw with Dianne as temperatures continue to drop. By evening there will be a deep chill in the air.
